PRIM was founded in 1981 with the mission to serve independent artists in order to offer them the freedom to create in the best circumstances possible, while retaining full editorial control of their work.
PRIM is open to all creators, individuals, artists and independent producers who wish to use its resources for all endeavours of an artistic or community-based nature, or for research purposes.
Its mandate as a self-run artists’ center is, on one hand, to actively contribute to the development of independent artists by offering instructional training programs and, on the other hand, to encourage the production of contemporary audio-visual works through programs and technical facilities that encourage artistic creativity. PRIM is a technical and human resource center devoted to the conception and creation of audio-visual works, at the service of the entire cultural and artistic community. PRIM’s goal is to encourage the professionalization of artists while improving the quality of independent production.
